For information:
Sergei Rachmaninoff is a Russian composer, pianist, and conductor. Synthesized in his work the principles of the St. Petersburg and Moscow composer schools (as well as mixing the traditions of Western European and Middle Eastern music) and created his own original style.
The second piano concerto was written by Rachmaninoff in 1900. First performed in full in Moscow on October 27, 1901. The second concerto has become one of the most well-known, popular, and performed works not only by Rachmaninov but also by the entire world of musical literature for piano and orchestra.
The poem "The Bells" is a piece of music for a mixed choir, three soloists (soprano, tenor, and baritone), and orchestra, written by Rachmaninoff in 1913 to the words of the poem of the same name by Edgar Allan Poe, translated by Balmont.
