Yapı Kredi Bank Azerbaijan CJSC and Mastercard have entered into an agreement within the framework of the region’s first-ever implementation of the Mastercard Wholesale Program. The signing ceremony took place on May 21, 2025, at the Head Office of Yapı Kredi Bank Azerbaijan CJSC, with the participation of senior executives from both parties.

This strategic collaboration aims to digitize, automate, and optimize B2B payments in the travel sector. Through the Mastercard Wholesale Program, Yapı Kredi Bank Azerbaijan will be able to offer services to travel agencies operating anywhere in the world through an online platform. This marks a significant milestone for Azerbaijan’s banking sector in advancing international integration within tourism and technology.

Sinan Ağırbaş, General Manager Assistant of Sales and Marketing at Yapı Kredi Bank Azerbaijan CJSC, commented on the project:

Under the engagement, Yapı Kredi Bank Azerbaijan CJSC will utilize Mastercard’s technological capabilities to manage both local and international B2B travel payments via digital platform. This approach will enhance transparency, traceability, and speed in the payment process, offering significant advantages to partner agencies.
